Alex, noun: slang term for believing you are the main character in everybody's story.

Example: "You are such an Alex for believing that Jessica and Bryan broke up because of you!"

Am I an Alex?

No, no, I'm not.

It is not true.

Or is it?

Aren't we all a bit?

I am Alex explores the concept of ego and self-centeredness in a world dominated by the culture of me, myself, and I. The three characters are all "Alexes", with the piece focusing on a single character.

We witness denial, frustration and his eventual realization that we are all Alex to a varying degree.

Established in 2008 by its artistic director Dorian Mallia, the acclaimed Moveo Dance Company has consistently showcased contemporary performances both locally and on the international stage. Among its notable original productions are Frida, Carmen and The Other Door - What’s Wrong, which have graced the stages of various local theatres. Moveo Dance Company's artistic philosophy revolves around the pursuit of innovation and the exploration of enigmatic concepts. A cornerstone of their work lies in the continuous study of the moving human body, ensuring that their creations remain dynamic and ever evolving. As a testament to their dedication and contribution to the arts, Moveo Dance Company was awarded the ICO fund from Arts Council Malta in 2022 and has since become one of its esteemed creative partners.
