Jovana Zelenović: Bodies in Encounter, Workshop
The focus of the workshop is raising awareness of our own body and its weight in relation to other bodies in space. Through a dynamic series of sequences, we will explore various mechanisms of movement, paying special attention to the force of gravity in order to better understand how it helps and serves us when encountering other bodies. By consciously directing, pausing, and guiding our movements, we will investigate how to make the most precise use of our energy and strength. The second part of the workshop will be dedicated to partnering, delving deeper into the technique and principles of working with another body. The workshop will combine elements of improvisation and pre-defined phrases to achieve a better understanding of the learned elements and incorporate them into our own dance vocabulary.
