Klown is a multimedia dance performance created and performed by Matea Bilosnić. Based on the archetypes of jester and clown, Bilosnić creates her own authentic stage persona, a neo-clown combining elements of contemporary dance, clownery, cabaret and pop concert. Playfully and precisely performing text, music and movement, Klown questions the boundaries between reality and virtuality. While entertaining, Klown addresses the impact of social networks on an individual’s mental health, the issue of artificial intelligence, as well as the impact of the digital revolution, opens up questions about consciousness and truth. In this emotionally charged performance Klown searches for meaning of its own existence inviting the audience to raise the same questions themselves.
