What could be so important that you haven’t returned my call for three days? What’s so urgent that you can’t stop for 5 minutes? You cannot just disappear like that! Nobody can disappear in such a way!
Your Mother at My Door, the result of the partnership between Emese Cuhorka and László Fülöp, includes the relationship between dance and sound (an electronic piano is a central element on the stage), between choreographic writing and improvisation, and above all between art and human mind. Where does all our wasted time go? How, where and why do things – time, feelings, us and other people – disappear? Between irony and disorientation, the two artists try to answer these questions in a personal and entertaining way, creating a light yet fascinatingly complex choreography.
László Fülöp graduated from the Budapest Contemporary Dance School. Since then he has worked with numerous Hungarian and international dance makers. László’s artistic interest is mainly focused on studying and analysing of all forms of human social behaviour and communication issues, from all possible aspects, in their completeness, without generalization and prejudice: in a simple, pure and personal way.
Emese Cuhorka, a contemporary dancer, performer and teacher, completed her studies at the Budapest Contemporary Dance School in 2011. She has been a member of HODWORKS for eight years, works with Csaba Molnár and The Symptoms. Her secret improvisation games as a child have determined her freedom in her artistic work.
