Presentation of the AEROWAVES network & Round-table talk

Since Dance and Non-Verbal Theatre Festival San Vincenti has recently become one of the partners of Aerowaves network, we have decided to present this unique European hub for dance discovery in an informal get-together with its members and artists. We would like to stress the importance of this network for Croatian dance artists and give answers to some often asked questions. Our collocutor at this presentation will be Edvin Liverić, longtime Croatian representative in Aerowaves.

Aerowaves is a network of dance festivals and theaters which was founded in 1996 and consists of 42 contemporary dance experts from 33 different European countries.

At its first meeting in London in 1996, Aerowaves received 262 video recordings from 24 countries. Since then, 10 best choreographies are regularly presented within Resolution! Festival at The Place in London.

Nineteen years later, Aerowaves annual open call for emerging choreographers receives more than 600 applications from all over Europe, and the selected artists present their works not only in London, but on 25 more stages around Europe. Namely, that is the number of registered partners within the platform which has been supported by “Creative Europe Programme” since 2014. Therefore, the number of presentations within Aerowaves in a year has surpassed 100.

Aerowaves also organizes Spring Forward Festival, established in 2011 and held each April in one European city; its goal is to encourage better understanding and to sensibilize audience. The festival organizes round tables dealing with contemporary dance production, talks with audience and workshops for future dance critics. Aerowaves believes that young dance artists develop in contact with their audience and their colleagues from other countries, while the audience enjoys the experience of dance art marked by originality and youthful individuality.
