Would it be alright if I danced in your kitchen? With this question Fabien Prioville invited people on facebook to perform with him and Pascal Merighi via Skype. They were asked to share their music, their movement, their opinion or their kitchen-view and co-create the piece in taking part in the first digitally extended live performance. Direct interaction via a medium like Skype is central to the performance. All the Skype performers take part in the show live.
Virtuality as a playground for self presentation: Fabien Prioville is fascinated by the influence of new technology on the way we are communicating. For his new piece he was inspired by the video chatroom chatroulette. On this site users present their, sometimes radical, ideas in totally random encounters.
Fabien Prioville (dancer, choreographer) was born in Paris 1973. After being interpret for 15 years with«Lalala Human Steps» and «Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina-Bausch», Fabien Prioville’s works all share a common basis of contrasts and opposites. His artistic focus lies on the exploration of society and the inner emotional world of the human being. He is searching for clear pictures for everyday impressions and observations, shedding light on emotions or converting them into their opposites.
