Kubilai Khan Investigations is considering itself as an artistic exchanging post : a haven/hearth for disciplines to see languages and expressions blend, their owness unaltered. The owness of each material used thus stirring up another, a polytonic/polymorphic writing is being given living motion. Our contribution is thus to provide the very particular home, the architectony in which the diversity of the materials can be woven into original creation: a polysemic experience as an alternative to univocal, consensual understanding. Matter extracted from simple, strange, technical, poetical features of our personal experience, from our societies’ socio-political determining forces; meaning recaptured from voices-faces of men and women there and then, from these edge/fringe-spaces in which sounds the risk of aloofness/estrangement/not-belonging. Material coming into being, all the while weaving a singular weft of space and time; a drifting vision, unusual, temporary and fragile.
This piece is inspired by Haruki Murakami’s Chroniques de l’oiseau à ressort.
