CONCEPT: The reconstruction of the movement protocol. Volumes and spaces, which have disappeared in time, lost their shape or changed their purpose, become visible and passable by means of light installations. Simple sheaves of light in the shape of wall, vault or floor take over the role of the guide through time and space, directing the movement of the spectators. The challenge is not in the visual experience of the space, but in the questioning of the perception of our bodies and of the collective memory of that space. Movement through the space, owing to the light, which is either too strong or too weak, and to the spatial difference, is completely directed to the perception of the body of the spectator. The daily view of the space will eventually disappear and the light will, like a brush, intensify or mitigate the colors and the structures, drawing the lines dividing day and night, rough and soft, existing and non existing, terrestrial and ethereal.
SOUNDSCAPE: Together with the main idea of the light installation, the soundscape is introduced into the space in order to intensify the sensual perception of the space and ambiance. The sounds which are introduced are the sounds of the machines used at the zebra crossings for the blind persons and the persons with impaired sight. The sound warns about the possible surprises which are, due to the strong sheaf of the light, not visible to the eye and thus reinforces the sensual perception of those moving through the space.
