This project took three years to develop... from the original idea it has become a solo performance which unites movement, dramatic text, video and light and places them into an interactive relationship. Three physical conditions of water (ice, vapour and liquid), three spatial plans, the man (on the video) and the woman, their needs, experiences and all the segments which make a relationship. I created a system within which the performance was made. If we consider that the man's space is the space of ice, rigid and limited - that's the space in which a man feels comfortable, and a woman doesn't.
If we consider that the woman's space is the space of vapour, of imagination and play that's the space in which a woman feels comfortable, and a man doesn't. This means that the liquid condition - water - symbolizes the common space, the space of harmony. With it everything begins and ends. This is the space I long for, this is how I understand the world and the relationship and unity of men and women. An idea, happiness, depression, change of heart, going crazy, being lazy, didn't want to think anymore, had butterflies in my stomach and a millstone around my neck, asked for advice and help, waged war with myself, talked, had no sleep, ate, felt, lost faith in myself, lost faith in my ideas, lost faith in myself, my ideas and the show, slept, didn't eat, had no feelings, realized how hard it is to work alone, was happy, yelled, searched for other jobs, sang, laughed, was worried, kept my mouth shut, wrote down my dreams, screamed, read books, cried, poured out my fantasies into images, used my private life as an inspiration...I have been working on this show for some time now...
And all the projects...the successful ones I was proud of and the less successful ones that made me sad...all the endeavours... All the workshops and conversations with my colleagues. Resulted in a hew fruit of my creation…
