The Kibbutz performance, which powerfully integrates Be'er's choreography with Irit Batzri's excellent video art and a rousing soundtrack, is itself a Screen Saver, one that enables easy escapism for an hour and a quarter. The different elements are assimilated, but not consumed, by one another. The work speaks about frameworks and human belonging more than about difficult current events, which try occasionally to steal into the work, for example by the reading of Yehuda Amichai's poem The Place Where We Are Right.
Above all, Rami Be'er is the champion of aesthetics, and, under his direction, the KCDC is a mature company that is not scared to dare. Screensaver is a contemporary work, tied to life in the new millennium, from the points of view of both tempo and language, and it is unquestionably an emotionally-moving multimedia performance.
The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company's "Screen Saver must be seen by every cultured person, by lovers of good entertainment, fans of contemporary music, those who frequent the most up to date clubs, and also the sporting in spirit and not just dance lovers. Hurry up so you don't miss it!
The place where we are night From the place where we are right
Flowers will never grow
in the spring
The place where we are right Is hard and trampled
like a yard
But doubts and loves dig up the world
like a mole, a plow.
And a whisper will be heard in the place where the ruined
house once stood.

The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company was founded in 1970 as a "dream come true" by Yehudit Arnon (the foutiller? Since the days when, as a young girl in Auschwitz, she was forced to dance in order to survive, she vowed that if she succeeded in surviving, she would dedicate her life to dance. This indeed happened and after she came to Israel and settled in Kibbutz Gaston, she turned a group of young amateur dancers into one of Israel's leading contemporary dance companies, steadily gaining international acclaim.
The Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company's Artistic Director, Rami Be’er , was born to a family of musicians in Kibbutz Ga'aton, Israel. At a very early age he began studying cello, and later undertook dance studies with Yehudit Arnon.
Be'er joined the company as a dancer and choreographer in 1980, and has credited both the company and himself with an impressive list of adult works, as well as some delightful and highly popular children's works. Some of his creations have become internationally acclaimed and Be'er has been awarded prizes both in Israel and abroad. He has been commissioned by various companies abroad and annually creates works for the Carmiel International Dance Festival. Apart from his choreographies, Be'er designs his own sets and lighting,
In spite of the fact that some of his works clearly show his concern for social matters, Be'er has never stopped to an "ideological" or propagandistic style. According to Be'er himself, he does not claim to tell a particular story nor wishes to do so, but seeks to encourage the individual viewer to connect to his own inner world, rather than that of the work, or the choreographer that created it.
