The project M.U.R. is inspired by autobiographical prose writings of Marina Cvetajeva, the Russian poetess whose most intriguing biography interlaces with the work of many prominent European artists of the 20th century. The aim of the project is not merely to single out personal details from the most fascinating life of the Russian author, but to task the performers to find/create an analogous experience of their own that reflects the same fragileness of identity as witnessed by Cvetajeva, when faced with unsteady political conditions. The contours of her world have been outlined through the philosophy of discomfort, through storytelling about peripheral, yet not endmost situations. Insisting strictly on individual autobiographical details and putting the categories of acting and dance in contrast are the two main tools in exploring the private worlds of the performers. The emphasis was primarily put on the process of emphatic habilitation of performers, as well as on their refusal of and irony towards the "imposed" textual framework.
