INCOGNITO
Choreography: Lali Ayguade Dancers: Lali Ayguade, Nicolás Ricchini Music: Mar-Khalifé (Ya Nas-Yeribi) Production: Momentum Association
This piece focuses on the body, its physicality and virtuosity as well as its abstraction. Despite the fact that we are conscious and intelligent beings, there are things we cannot explain. Everything which surrounds us has a system. We are a very complex system and sometimes emotions and system collide. Behind the marvelous human aspect lies the hidden universe of the interconnected machinery. We have a 200 gram brain made of the most complex material ever discovered in the universe.
Eulàlia Ayguade Farro was born in Barcelona in 1980. When she was 8 years old, she started studying music (theory and piano) at the Liceu and at Urquinaona's Conservatory in Barcelona. In 1996 she studied at the Theatre Institute and one year later went on to study at PARTS, under the direction of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. In 2003, Eulàlia joined Akram Khan Company in London, where she performed for eight years. She also worked with Roberto Oliván & Enclave Arts del Moviment in Catalunya and Belgium, Hofesh Shechter Company in London, and Publik Eye in Denmark; with the choreographer Marcos Morau (winner of the National Prize for Best Choreographer 2013) and with the French company Baró d'Evel. In 2005 she created her own work "Twice Read" together with the Slovak dancer and choreographer Anton Lachky (one of the founders of Les Slovaks Dance Collective). Between 2007 and 2009 she created work of a smaller format with the acrobat and clown Joan Ramon Graell (current director of Barcelona's Circus Association), in 2012 "Encuentro" with Joan Català and musician Jordi Molina, and the trio "Little Me" with both Joan Català and Young Jin Kim. In 2013 she created the duet "Incognito" which is currently touring.
